Intern, Venice Biennale 2024

In the summer months of 2024, I worked as an intern for the Malta Pavillion of the Venice Biennale and gained hands on experience of what it is like to work at a contemporary arts exhibition.

 

My tasks included making sure that every day that I was on site the installation panels and screens were working smoothly without complications, helping and communicating with people such as tourists, art critics and journalists to further understand the meaning behind the art. Engaging with international artists and curators helped me immensely in strengthening my communication and networking skills when it came to promoting an exhibition.

 

Finally, I developed a deeper understanding of the global art scene that I had not been as exposed to prior to taking on this internship.

February 2025- June 2025

NOVA, Marketing Director

For my final year of my Digital Arts BFA, I was appointed the role of Marketing Director for the exhibition of all the students reading for the course.

 

The exhibition showcased the works of the 30 students. The role required me to plan, execute and budget for a series of promotional campaigns to market the exhibition to a wide audience with the intention of showcasing the talent of the exhibitors. Another task that I was assigned was to find sponsorships to gain funding for the exhibition as a whole, as well as orchestrating a sponsorship program that was sent out to multiple sponsors with varying packages to acquire funds while promoting the works of my colleagues. Overseeing the branding and social media content was also part of my tasks in order to monitor what was being posted about the events.

I am in the process of completing my bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts in Digital Arts.

With three years of experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma, and Canva, I have developed strong visual communication skills. Additionally, I have built websites using HTML and CSS on GitHub and gained hands-on experience in branding, marketing and pitching my own work. Additionally, I have integrated AI tools into my work in order to enhance my creative process by exploring new ways to push artistic boundaries.

 

Beyond digital design, I have experience in photography, working with models in studio lighting, and orchestrating my own photoshoots. Through this degree I have learnt that I thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy sharing ideas with others, and adapt easily to new settings.
